As a member of the Electoral Code of Conduct Enforcement Committee, I sat with my colleagues to hear four complaints arising from the upcoming Kasipul Constituency by-election.
We delivered our ruling on complaint no. **IEBC/ECCEC/BE/04/2025**. Acknowledging the widely reported incidents of violence associated with the campaigns in the Constituency, we remain committed to ensuring that all candidates are accorded a fair and level playing field, where they can campaign freely, without fear or intimidation.
In this regard, we issued the following orders:
a. That all candidates participating in the Kasipul Constituency by-election must adhere to the harmonized campaign schedule, which was agreed upon in the presence of all candidates.
b. That should any clashes arise as a result of failing to comply with the harmonized campaign schedule, the Committee will exercise its powers as provided under paragraph 7 of the Second Schedule of the Elections Act, Cap 7.
c. That the detailed, reasoned decision on these matters will be delivered tomorrow, Tuesday 18th November 2025.
