IEBC has urged young people to actively participate in elections ahead of the March 30, 2026 voter registration launch.
Commissioner Dr. Ann Nderitu noted that although youth form the largest population, their representation in leadership remains low. In 2022, over 4,300 youth contested, but only 335 were elected—and none ran for president or deputy president.
She called on young people to register, vote, seek leadership positions, and use platforms like social media and creative arts to promote civic awareness.
“If you have an ID, register, participate, and use your voice.”
IEBC is calling on Kenyan youth to step up and shape the country’s future as voter registration kicks off on March 30, 2026.
Despite being the majority, youth leadership remains low. The message is clear: power means nothing if you don’t use it.
