Strengthening Electoral Participation Through Stakeholder Engagement in Nyandarua County

Just now

I held a stakeholder engagement forum in Nyandarua County, bringing together representatives from all constituencies across the county, including the National Registration Bureau (NRB), Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP), Nyandarua County Government, clergy, persons with disabilities, youth, women enterprise groups, and community leaders.

Our discussions focused on the performance of the ongoing Enhanced Continuous Voter Registration (ECVR) exercise. Stakeholders were updated on the progress made so far, while also identifying areas for improvement and practical ways to enhance the process.

I emphasized that democracy begins with registration, as it is the first and most important step toward meaningful participation in electoral processes. Every eligible citizen should have the opportunity to register and exercise their democratic right.

Stakeholders also underscored the importance of stronger collaboration among institutions, particularly the need for the National Registration Bureau to expedite the issuance of national identification cards in support of voter registration.

I appreciate the valuable insights shared during the forum and reaffirm my commitment to working with all stakeholders to ensure an inclusive, efficient, and credible voter registration process for the people of Nyandarua County and beyond.
